their stories

What happens when someone finally stays.

To protect the children in our care, we do not share their photos or full names. What we can share are the outcomes. The chapters that make the whole thing worth doing.

First placement · 2023

The phone call that named us.

A DCS caseworker called about a teenager sitting in a juvenile detention center with nowhere to go. The caller ID, with no explanation anyone could give, read 'One Vision Lighthouse', a name that had not been spoken aloud yet that morning.

That call became our first placement, and our reason for filing the paperwork the same week.

Years later

A kid who came back for his siblings.

One of the young men who grew up in this home walked on at a Division I school, became a pastor, and then went back into the system to get his younger siblings. He is raising them himself.

He still calls our founder by a nickname only he uses. That part stays between them.

This year

Tennessee Promise, headed for college.

A senior arrived at our door not enrolled anywhere, credits already finished, just waiting on the system to catch up. She is on her way to college, fully paid through Tennessee Promise, with a career path she picked for herself.

We do not publish her name or her face. We just keep showing up while she finishes the work.

Right now

The ones whose names we hold.

For every story above there are several more we will not tell yet. Active placements, minors, kids whose families and pasts are still being sorted out. We hold their names and faces in confidence until they are old enough, and ready, to tell their own.

If you'd like to support a specific need without seeing a name, write to us. We'll connect the dots.
